After the actor dropped a teaser image of a couple of scuba divers with nothing but a date on it, there’s been speculation of a collaboration. Turns out, it is true.
When Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar posted an image of two scuba divers in water with a date, 1.11.2021 on it and a message that read, “Decades ago. A story was born.A tribute to our people, our land, celebrated our forests and inspired a new generation. It’s time now, for the legend to return”, there was widespread excitement, especially given the names of the people he had tagged in the post – music director Ajaneesh Loknath, and Wild Karnataka maker, Amoghavarsha.
According to reports, the post is in reference to an upcoming collaboration between Puneeth and Amoghavarsha, with an important announcement due on November 1, Karnataka Rajyotsava. Produced by the actor’s banner PRK productions in association with Amoghavarsha’s Mudskipper, the project is rumoured to be about an adventure journey Puneeth undertook earlier this year, for which he travelled across the coastal belt of Karnataka. The project will, of course, have music by Ajaneesh. No further details are available at this point, but the post got a lot of traction, with fans saying it is a project called Ondu Muttina Kathe. Incidentally, the 1987 Ondu Muttina Kathe had Puneeth’s father, the late matinee idol Dr Rajkumar in the lead along with Archana, and featured Kannada cinema’s first underwater sequence.
Another social media post suggested it was a 90-minute film called Gandhadagudi, that follows a wild journey from Bidar to Chamarajnagar, shot in the last 18 months, with the trailer dropping on November 1. Either which way, this will, no doubt, be something for fans of the Power Star to eagerly look forward to.
