After the rather underwhelming 1 minute and 46 second ‘glimpse’ of Salaar that came out early today, the next big thing that fans are looking forward to from the team is the trailer. Considering that the teaser just about introduced audiences to the world of Salaar, and barely any footage of Prabhas as the title character, fans are desperate for more. And that we hear, is a good month and more away. According to a report in Pinkvilla, the team of Salaar will unveil an action-packed trailer in the second half of August.

In the past, Hombale Films, the production house behind the Prashant Neel directorial, had released the trailer of KGF: Chapter almost a month and a half before its theatrical outing (November 9 and December 21), while KGF: Chapter 2’s trailer came with less than three weeks to go for the movie’s release (March 27 and April 14). Unlike KGF: Chapter 1, which was Yash’s first bonafide pan-India release and required him and the team to market himself and the film to the world and, hence, required a lot of time for promotions, Salaar has Prabhas in the lead and there is a lot of buzz surrounding the project already. Salaar is, undoubtedly, one of the most anticipated films of the year, so Hombale Films may follow a KGF2-like promotional strategy for the Prabhas film. The expectation, right now, is that the trailer will be out in the last week of August.

Salaar, which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Pramod, Jagapati Babu, among others, is set to release in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. It is not a stand-alone movie and will have more than one part, with the first, Ceasefire, coming out on September 18. The film, according to sources, is a massively updated version of the director’s debut film, Ugramm and sees him reunite with cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda and music director Ravi Basrur yet again.
