The Shashank directorial is set to be in theatres on July 28
Kousalya Supraja Rama is Kannada actor Darling Krishna’s next theatrical release. The film, directed by Shashank Talya, has a tagline that reads, ‘The Tale of a Real Man’, which the filmmaker had explained is not about machismo, even though the leading man is shown to be a moustache twirling, slightly rough character. This is a film that explores what a real man should be like from the perspective of women, Shashank had said.
The filmmaker, who has toyed with the mother-son sentiment in his earlier Thayige Thaka Maga as well, returns to that territory with Kousalya Supraja Rama. “The crux of the narrative of the film follows the relationship dynamic of Kousalya (Sudha Belawadi) and her son Rama (Krishna). Technically, Sudha has the title role in the film and this character will be one of the best in her career,” Shashank had told us earlier.
The filmmaker, who has announced July 28 for the theatrical release is now preparing to reveal the trailer, to give audiences an idea of what to expect later this month. “The trailer will be launched at an event on July 10, which will set the tone for what’s in store. So far, we have released three songs from the film, all of which have been well received, especially Shivani and Preethisuve. We may release one more song prior to the theatrical outing,” Shashank tells us.
So far, director Shashank has revealed very little about the film, but based on the fleeting visuals in the Kousalya Supraja Rama title track and the Shivani song, it appears that Krishna’s characterization will be refreshing, compared to the routine and almost indistinguishable roles in most of his recent releases. The trailer on July 10 is expected to shed light on the story.
