The actor recently said in an interview that he was offered a part in the Bollywood movie, which he couldn’t take up due to scheduling conflicts
Since the release of the Malayalam superhero movie Minnal Murali on Netflix, there has been a lot of talk about Tovino Thomas now rising to national fame, and with it bagging projects outside Mollywood. While the actor has already starred opposite Dhanush in a Tamil venture a few years ago, he recently said in an interview that he was close to signing a Bollywood movie and that too with Aamir Khan.
Tovino revealed that he was offered a part in Aamir’s Laal Singh Chaddha, which also has Kareena Kapoor-Khan in the lead, two years ago. However, the actor told PTI that he wasn’t able to take up the role due to scheduling conflicts.
The role it seems was the same one that was offered to Vijay Sethupathi, who too had opted out due to other commitments and is now finally done by Naga Chaithanya. Tovino said that he was shooting for Minnal Murali when the role was offered to him and he had to decline as he was already focused on completing the Basil Joseph directorial.
While the Mollywood actor said he didn’t regret the decision, he said he was disappointed he couldn’t take it up as he didn’t have any other alternative. Considering the praise that Minnal Murali has been garnering since the movie dropped on Netflix on December 24, it’s safe to say that many more opportunities from Bollywood are sure to come knocking on Tovino’s doors.
The film revolves around a small-town tailor who acquires superpowers after being struck by lightning. The movie also has Guru Somasundaram, Aju Varghese, Baiju Santosh, Shelly Kishore, Vasisht, Jude Anthany Joseph and Femina George in lead roles. According to reports, the team is also planning a sequel for the movie.
