Tovino Thomas has joined the sets of L2 Empuraan, the upcoming Mohanlal starrer helmed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. The location picture is now going viral on social media.

Tovino Thomas, the popular actor, is set to reprise his much-loved character Jathin Ramdas from Lucifer in the film’s upcoming sequel, L2 Empuraan. After a long wait, the talented actor has now joined the Mohanlal starrer, which is helmed by actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran. A recent location still of Tovino, with the crew members of L2 Empuraan, was recently dropped online and is now winning the internet.

In the new location picture, which is now going viral on social media, Tovino Thomas is seen posing with the crew members of the upcoming Mohanlal starrer. In the new picture, which has been shared by a team member on social media, the versatile actor is seen sporting his signature Jathin Ramdas get-up a clean-shaven look, and a long, black winter jacket.

For the uninitiated, it has been confirmed that Tovino Thomas’s character Jathin Ramdas will make a comeback in L2 Empuraan. The talented actor is expected to have a longer screen time in the upcoming Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial when compared to its first installment, which was released in 2019. More details on Tovino’s role in the second part of the franchise are expected to be revealed very soon.

L2 Empuraan to release in 2025

As reported earlier, director Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is also to reprise his character Zayed Masood in L2 Empuraan, is planning to wrap up the shooting of the film by the second half of 2024. Earlier in one of his interviews, Prithviraj revealed that he is not allowed to perform action sequences until June 2024 as he is recovering from an injury. So, the filmmaker is planning to finish shooting the rest of the portions involving other cast members by June.

Along with Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Tovino Thomas, other main cast members of Lucifer, including Manju Warrier, Sai Kumar, Baiju Santhosh, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Saniya Iyappan, and others, are expected to reprise their respective roles in L2 Empuraan. The movie, which is being planned as a pan-Indian project, is slated to hit the big screens by the first quarter of 2025. The Lucifer sequel is bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor and Subaskaran Allirajah, under the banners of Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions.
