Malayalam star Tovino Thomas is all set to begin the shoot of Akhil Paul and Anas Khan’s Identity in Kochi from December 9
Malayalam star Tovino Thomas has finally wrapped up the shoot of Lal Jr’s Nadikar Thilakam in Jammu and Kashmir last month and is now gearing up for could be another exciting six months in his career – with him being part of two big-budget projects Identity and L2: Empuraan.
The two movies, which will have schedules at least up to April 2024, will keep Tovino busy. The actor is set to begin the shoot of Identity, which is helmed by Forensic directors Anas Khan and Akhil Paul, on December 9 in Kochi.
Trisha to join Tovino Thomas’ Identity on December 28
Akhil tells OTTplay that the team has already wrapped up two schedules in Goa and Rajasthan, where Tovino and Trisha weren’t part of. “Tovino and us had a prep session in Pondicherry recently. He is set to begin the shoot on December 9. He has completed his prior commitments and will be shooting for the film till April 2024. Meanwhile, Trisha will join on December 18 in Kochi,” he says, adding that next portions will be shot in Kochi and Bengaluru.
The film is also replete with action sequences, with Belgaum, Mumbai, Udaipur and Jammu and Kashmir being the main locations for these. The director-scriptwriter also informs us that Tovino is bulking up for his role in the movie. “He is gaining muscle for his character and also doing his preparations for the action scenes,” says Akhil.
Identity also has Mandira Bedi and Vinay Rai. The team has allotted 25 out of total 90 days for the stunt sequences, which will be choreographed by a foreign action director.
Tovino Thomas’ Identity look also hints at L2: Empuraan timeline
Meanwhile, the 2018: Everyone Is A Hero actor will also be seen in a clean-shaven look in the movie. This could also help with his character in L2: Empuraan. In a recent interview, Tovino had told us that he plans to begin the shoot of Prithviraj Sukumaran-directorial Empuraan in January 2024.
Empuraan’s shoot is expected to continue for a long time with the schedules planned so that each actor can also do their other projects in the gaps, he said. Tovino’s look, however, also confirms that Empuraan will also feature portions that would serve as a continuation of Lucifer’s storyline, while also exploring more about Mohanlal’s character Khureshi Ab’raam.
Tovino Thomas wraps up dubbing for Anweshippin Kandethum
Tovino, who was recently seen in Dr Biju’s Adrishya Jalakangal, had also completed dubbing for the police-drama Anweshippin Kandethum, which will be his next theatrical release. The actor has also wrapped up the shoot of the much-anticipated Ajayante Randam Moshanam and Nadikar Thilakam, in which he plays a superstar. Both movies are expected to hit theatres in the first half of 2024.
