“10 years ago, on this exact day, I stood in front of a movie camera for the very first time,” wrote Malayalam’s first-ever superhero actor Tovino Thomas on his social media. The actor celebrates a decade's journey in cinema on this day, with a heartfelt note to all his audiences and companions.

Tovino shared a photo of himself on the feed, in which the actor could be seen looking at himself in a mirror at a movie set. His long caption explains his journey and his experiences with the movies and characters he met in these 10 years. “Today, my life has changed. Cinema has changed,” he penned. Though there are a lot of changes, the actor affirmed that his excitement and love for cinema have grown every single day.

Taking a moment to express gratitude, the actor thanked everyone who stood by him during his journey. He also hailed the journey as ‘one heck of a ride’, and that everyone, regardless of how big or small, is important for him. He also mentioned that he is excited for all the projects that are to come, all the learnings and the challenges as well. “I can’t wait to post like this in another 10 years too,” the actor ends the note with an ambitious tone.

Tovino made his debut in 2012 with the Malayalam movie Prabhuvinte Makkal. The actor could be called a synonym for hard work and dedication, as he has never stopped working on himself for the breakthroughs. His roles in movies like Ennu Ninte Moideen (2015) made him notable in the industry, for which he won an award for the Best Supporting Actor.

The actor went on to star in some of the excellent movies that changed the course of Malayalam cinema. This includes Mayanadhi, Guppy, Uyare, Luca and Kala. To top it all, he pulled off an amazing job through Malayalam’s first-ever superhero movie by essaying the titular role in Minnal Murali, helmed by Basil Joseph. The film is available to stream on Netflix and went on to also become one of the most-watched non-English movies on the streaming platform.
