The movie, which also has Nimisha Sajayan and Indrans, will be co-produced by Ellanar Films, Mythri Movie Makers and Tovino Thomas Productions
There’s no rest for Tovino Thomas! The actor, whose latest film Thallumaala is running to packed houses, has already moved on to his next project Adrishya Jalakangal, which is helmed by Dr Biju. The movie, which also has Tovino as one of its co-producers, began shooting in Kasaragod recently.
Apart from Tovino, the movie also has Nimisha Sajayan and Indrans in pivotal roles. Tovino and Nimisha had previously teamed up in Madhupal’s Oru Kuprasidha Payyan. The movie, which is touted to be the biggest film helmed by Dr Biju, is expected to have a lengthy schedule that will keep its actors busy. The filmmaker had also informed us that they are planning to showcase the movie in international film festivals once it's ready.
On Adrishya Jalakangal, its director Dr Biju had earlier told us that it’s an “anti-war film and also deals with surrealistic themes”. Kannur and Kasaragod will be the main locations of the film, which has a huge erected in these places. The team had worked for over two months to create the sets.
Meanwhile, Tovino has also completed shooting for Aashiq Abu’s Neelavelicham, which is set for a December release. The period film, which is based on Vaikom Muhammed Basheer’s eponymous story, has the actor playing a writer. Rima Kallingal, Roshan Mathew and Shine Tom Chacko are also part of the cast of the film that is set in the 1960s.
Tovino has also wrapped up his portions for Jude Anthany Joseph’s big-budget multi-starrer based on the 2018 Kerala floods. The actor reportedly plays a soldier in the movie, which also has Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Lal, Narain, Aparna Balamurali, Tanvi Ram and Vineeth Sreenivasan.
After Tovino completes his work on Adrishya Jalakangal, he is expected to begin work on Jithin Lal’s Ajayante Randam Moshanam, which will have him in a triple role.
