Tota Roy Chowdhury slams tolls: Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Shabana Azmi are aware of Srijit’s works

The actor who has recently worked in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, defended the director and his Feludar Goyendagiri.

It has been 10 days since Srijit Mukherji’s Feludar Goyendagiri was dropped on Hoichoi Tota Roy Chowdhury as Feluda and Anirban Chakrabarti as Jatayu. The series recieved mixed reactions from the audience. Some of the Feluda fans lauded the series for bringing the nostalgia back, while another group has panned the series for not matching expectations. On Tuesday, Tota took to social media to slam the trolls who blamed both Tota and Srijit for the show. Meanwhile, Hoichoi has announced that Feludar Goyendagiri is, in fact, the most-watched show ever on the streaming platform.

Tota started his journey as Feluda with Srijit’s Chhinnamastar Obhishap in 2020 for Addatimes. The first season of Feludar Goyendagiri is based on Satyajit Ray’s Darjeeling Jawmjawmat. On Facebook, Tota wrote, “Usually I welcome constructive criticism. But this time, many of the criticisms are not only lame but also filled with hatred. The main objective of such posts is just to humiliate the director and actors.” Supporting Srijit, Tota wrote that he is one of the most known directors beyond Bengal. “I have worked with several important directors and I have rarely seen anyone as passionate as Srijit. I have been working in Mumbai for a while and people are aware of Srijit’s work there,’ wrote Tota. He further added, “I worked in a small character in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and the day Srijit paid us a visit, I saw how people, including Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, and Shabana Azmi, were aware of his work.”

Talking about the trolls who targeted him, Tota wrote, “I requested people not to compare me with stalwarts like Sumitra Chatterjee or Sabyasachi Chakrabarty. But there will be people who would compare because they are fault-finders.” He further added that he will decide how to portray a character. He wrote, “If you like my work, watch the series,” or else one may simply leave, he suggested.
