Shakib Khan and Mimi Chakraborty’s Toofan was released in Bangladesh last week and already created a wave at the box office. The song Dushtu Kokil became an instant hit and viral on social media. In the song, Shakib touches Mimi’s cheek with his gun. Millions of reels are being made copying Mimi's dance. Directed by Raihan Rafi, the film also features Chanchal Chowdhury and Nabila.

In a recent interview, Mimi said, “After a long time a commercial Bengali film became so much popular. I worked with the knowledge that Toofan would be Shakib Khan's film. But I never thought the making would be so good. The director made Shakib in a completely new avatar. The film broke the last 20 years’ record in Bangladesh.”

Enjoy 35+ OTTs like ZEE5, LionsgatePlay, Ullu, SunNXT, SonyLIV, Fancode and 250+ Live TV channels at just ₹99.

Mimi also talked about Bangladesh's emotions regarding Toofan and said that a cinema hall was built there only for showing Toofan. Mimi told Anandabazar Online, “Bangladeshis can accept good work. People are dancing to the song in theatres without AC. And in West Bengal, people make bad comments while listening to a song.”

Mimi also complained, “Bengalis are becoming snobs. They think that a film having songs and dances is a bad film. They say that people don't watch commercial films. Then who is watching Dustu Kokil or Ura Dhura?” Recently, a Tollywood director claimed on X Handle that Dustu Kokil, despite having so many viewers, could not be tagged as the year's best song and better songs might still come. What is Mimi's reaction? She said, “I did not see that director's comment, but heard about it. If a better song comes then it is wonderful. It is necessary to make hit songs for the industry.”
