Dev Adhikari’s recent movie Tonic has become a huge hit in Bengal, so much that theatres have been forced to add new shows owing to the demand of the audiences. Dev shared the news with his fans and stated that theatres have added new shows from December 27, since there is a huge demand for people who want to watch the film. While posting the news, Dev wrote, “Power of audience.”

The actor shared that PVR cinemas in Jessore Road have been forced to add new shows of the film. He also thanked Bengal for all the madness and love the film has received.

Dev had a successful year in 2021. The actor earned huge critical and commercial acclaim through his movie Golondaaj, which is now followed by Tonic.

While Golondaaj was a sports drama which was based on the ‘father of Indian football’ Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari, Tonic is a family drama which is not adapted from a real-life incident. Golondaaj, on the other hand, took notes from Nagendra’s life and showed it on screen. Of course, there too, the filmmakers took the artistic liberty and dramatized various portions, but kept the events of his life intact, more or less.

Also starring Anirban Bhattacharya, Isha Sahaa, Alexx O’Nell among others, Golondaaj is currently available for streaming on Hoichoi. The movie released in Hindi language as well, to reach to a wider audience.

Tonic is currently available in Bengali and only to the theatre-going audiences. The film is likely to also release on Hoichoi after a few months of its theatrical run.
