The upcoming comedy film will revolve around the story of two sisters who try to patch things up with their wealthy aunt, after learning of the latter’s terminal illness

Toni Collette, Anna Faris and Thomas Haden Church are teaming up for an upcoming comedy film The Estate. The film will be helmed by Dean Craig.

According to Variety, the film will revolve around the story of two sisters who struggle to keep their café running. When they get the news that their uber wealthy, yet estranged, aunt is terminally ill they see it as a lucrative opportunity to get a share of her inheritance and make their way to visit her to try and patch things up.

Once there, they realise that they were not the only ones to come up with the bright idea, as several of their cousins have descended upon their aunt with the same scheme in mind.

Sex and the City’s Sarah Jessica Parker’s banner, Pretty Matches Productions, produces the film, along with the studios Signature Films and Capstone Global.

The film’s director, Craig, had recently made his directorial debut with the Olivia Munn and Sam Claflin led Netflix film Love, Wedding Repeat.

Colette has been a part of several well-received films such as The Sixth Sense, Hereditary and Knives Out earning an Academy Award nomination for the former. She recently had a starring role in Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley.

Faris’ popular works include films such as The House Bunny and the Scary Movie films. She also received rave reviews for her starring role on the sitcom Mom.

Church had received an Academy Award nomination for his role in Sideways and had played the character of Sandman in the Tobey Maguire led Spider-Man 3. Church will reprise his role as the Marvel villain in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home.
