Tom Holland is one of the hottest properties in Hollywood right now. The young actor and his roles are discussed among movie goers and now he offers fans another chance for doing so.
Holland has confirmed that he will be playing the role of Hollywood legend Fred Astaire in an upcoming biopic. AP Entertainment had announced the news through their official Twitter handle, and this was later confirmed by the Spider-Man star himself.
During a promotional event for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Holland said, ““Oh I am playing Fred Astaire, yeah. I am – the script came in a week ago. I haven’t read it yet, they haven’t given it to me, I know that Amy Pascal has the script.”
Fred Astaire is a legend whose career spanned 76 years and was one of the leading stars in Broadway stages and film musicals. The star, who passed away over thirty years ago at the age of 88, had such control over technical abilities as well as grace as a singer and dancer.
Known to choreograph his own works, Astaire expanded his stardom at a time when the musical was becoming a fan favourite. At a time the genre reached its peak, Astaire was one of the few at the top of the genre.
Holland is currently promoting his upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home ahead of its global release on December 17. The third Spider-Man movie in the MCU, the movie is one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
