Tom 'lucifer' Ellis welcomed his fourth baby daughter, Dolly, first child with wife Meaghan Oppenheimer. However, the actor faced backlash on social media when he shared the happy news.
Lucifer actor Tom Ellis has recently been blessed with a baby daughter on Wednesday, November 8. Though this is the actor’s fourth child, it is his first with wife Meaghan Oppenheimer. Born via surrogacy, the baby is ruddy, happy and healthy.
The elated actor chose to share his joy and crack a mild SAG strike joke on Instagram, on November 10. “Our daughter Dolly Ellis- Oppenheimer was born on November 8th and within five hours of being alive, she single-handedly ended the SAG strike. We love her. Huge thank you to our amazing surrogate.”
Fans poured their love into the comments section, gushing congratulations. But there were some who were critical of the actor’s action, chastising him for posting a non-blurred photo of his newborn. One wrote, “She’s so cute but PLEASE cover her up. Unfortunately some people are sick.”
Another commented, “Congratulations but u could’ve just blurred her body. I wouldn’t want my mom posting my body on social media when I was born,” while a third penned, “Congrats but why expose her like that.” But there were others who spoke up for the actor and refused to find fault in him.
“I think Lucifer would have a field day with all these people making sexualised comments over a baby. Your hang up isn’t someone else’s, congratulate the lovely couple and move on,” noted a fan. Another said, “Congratulations! So very happy for you both. Please ignore people’s stupid comments. She’s lovely as are you both.”
Miranda-actor Tom Ellis and screenwriter Meaghan Oppenheimer tied the knot in 2019, after dating for four years. The actor was earlier married to actress Tamzin Outhwaite, and shares two daughters with her, Florence, 15, and Marnie, 11. He also has another daughter, Nora, 18, from an erstwhile relationship.
