Tollywood Box Office Report: Rangabali, Bhaag Saale, Rudrangi open with underwhelming collections, deets inside

July 7, 2023 releases

Tollywood is seeing a plethora of releases with each passing week. On July 7, 2023, multiple films Rudrangi, Bhaag Saale, and Rangabli were the notable ones that hit the screens. But sadly, none of them have managed to impress the audience at the ticketing windows. All these above said films had noted stars and were promoted well by their makers. But still, these films flopped in no time and are seeing a very low occupancy on the weekends.

First in line is Rangabali which had Naga Shaurya as the main lead. The film directed by Pawan Basamasetti was premiered a day in advance before the release date. As the word of mouth for the film was bad, the film took a dull start on its first day. It made only 1 crore share which is quite low and proves what kind of a flop the film was. Even during the key weekend, the occupancy is not even over 50% which is sad to see.

MM Keeravani's son, Simha Koduri released his new film Bhaag Saale, a crime comedy on June 7, 2023. The makers promoted the film on a promising note but still, the dull narration and the lack of engaging comedy hampered the film's outcome. Bhaag Saale saw some occupancy on day one but it has slowed down completely on the weekends. The film is already out from several single screens in the key areas of Telugu states disappointing the team.

Jagapathi Babu headlined a film titled Rudrangi which is a period drama. The reviews for this period drama were decent but this did not show in the collections or occupancy of the film. Rudrangi has absolutely no takers and the film is suffering from very low occupancy. As per the trade, Rudrangi will be even out of several screens once the weekdays start. Jagapathi Babu played a key role and his performance has been appreciated.

Apart from these above said films, a few other small films like 7:11 PM also came out and flopped at the box office. The slow start of these films has given Sree Vishnu's Samajavargama a breather. It is the only Telugu film that is attracting an audience for the last two weeks. The film's occupancy is great during the evening and night shows and the film has already crossed the Rs 30 crore mark at the box office. Now, all eyes are now on yet another small film Baby which has been directed by Sai Rajesh.
