Tollywood box office: BRO slows down, LGM and Krishna Gadu Ante Oka Range start on a disastrous note

Tollywood box office

Pawan Kalyan's BRO was released on July 28, 2023, and because of this, not many films dared to release a week after BRO. Low-budget films like Krishna Gadu Oka Range, Dhoni's maiden production, LGM, and Raju Gari Kodi Palav released. Let's look at how these films fared at the box office on day one.

First in line is Pawan Kalyan's BRO. The film co-starring Sai Dharam Tej started off with a bang and made big money in its first weekend. But once the weekdays have started, the occupancy has fallen down big time. The fantasy drama has crossed the Rs 70 crore share mark but has a long way to go as it needs to make at least Rs 90 crore share to be in the safe zone. As the weekend in on, the film will find a few takers and we need to see how it performs once the key Monday arrives.

Next in line is LGM, the maiden production of MS Dhoni. Even though the film was released in Tamil a week back, the Telugu dubbing came out on August 4, 2023. LGM was promoted well by the makers but it could not hold its fort as the reviews have been dull. The film has failed to take off at the ticketing windows and is also not seeing even a 50% occupancy in Telugu states.

Last but not least, Raju Gari Kodi Palav and Krishna Gadu Ante Oka Range were also released this Friday. But sadly, both films have fallen flat at the box office as there are no takers for this film whatsoever. Once the weekdays start, these films will be out of theaters. On the other hand, Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prema Kahaani is doing well in the Nizam area.

When it comes to OTT, Hotstar's latest thriller, Dayaa, directed by Pavan Sadineni has started with a bang as the show has started with mostly positive reviews. We need to see how these films fare in the days to come. The next big release in Telugu is Chiranjeevi's Bholaa Shankar which releases on August 11, 2023. Meher Ramesh has directed this film which is the remake of the Tamil hit Vedhalam.
