Rakshit Shetty, of course, presented Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana during its theatrical release and has been one of Raj's close allies over the last few years.
Raj B Shetty's Toby has been one of th e most anticipated releases of the year and looks like the film has delivered on all the promise it carried. The hype, of course, largely stems from what Raj had put together a couple of years ago in the form of Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana, a gritty gangster tale set in the underbelly of modern-day Mangaluru.
Toby may have resemblances with the previous world in terms of tone and the backdrop, but with Raj himself promising that this new film is his 'massiest' to date, there's certainly lots to look forward to.
'Top Notch' says Rakshit Shetty
And the responses coming in on social media suggest that Toby is certainly worth all the anticipation. A majority of the reviews, as expected, are about Raj B Shetty and Chaithra J Achar's performances which are apparently superb. One such glowing verdict comes from Rakshit Shetty's end who describes the film as 'beautiful'.
"#Toby is beautiful… @RajbShettyOMK and @Chaithra_Achar_ steel the show with their performance. Top-notch writing, cinematography and music… Don’t miss this one… Go book your tickets now… 🤗" wrote the Sapta Sagaradaache Ello actor.
Rakshit, of course, presented Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana during its theatrical release and has been one of Raj's close allies over the last few years. The two also acted together in Kiranraj K's 777 Charlie, which recently was adjudged 'Best Kannada Film' at the 69th National Film Awards.
Will Toby go pan-India?
The recent trend has seen Kannada films finding buyers in other regions for dubbed versions. Rishab Shetty's Kantara which was initially as sole Kannada release, warranted dubbed versions in four other languages which lent the film a pan-India status and also allowed it to yield exceptional results at the box office. Similarly, the very recent Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare is set to release in Telugu as 'Boys Hostel' on August 26.
Rashmi Gautam on playing Ramya's role in Boys Hostel: 'Love my glamorous look in the film'
Raj B Shetty, in this vein, has been very vocal about wanting to dub and release Toby in other languages once his film emerges as a hit in Kannada. Although it's too early to predict, one does see the film going on to do very well at the box office and going places.
