Toby: THIS is when the trailer of Raj B Shetty’s next is expected
Raj's film will be in theatres on August 25

Actor-filmmaker Raj B Shetty has a certain standing in the Kannada film industry, owing to the good response his films like Ondu Motteya Kathe and Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana garnered in the past. Yet, he is not looking on banking on that and has been going all out to promote his next film, Toby, to ensure that word about it spreads to maximum number of people.

Toby is a film that Raj wrote based on a story by TK Dayanand, which he has produced and acted in the title role as well. But this time around, given that the scale of the filmmaking is much bigger than anything he’s done before, Raj handed over the direction responsibility to his trusted associate Basil AL Chalakkal. Raj’s friends, cinematographer Pravin Shriyan and music man Midhun Mukundan are back to work on Toby as well and after a film like Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana with barely any women characters (no heroine, specifically), he’s made one with not one, but two leading ladies. Chaithra J Achar and Samyukta Hornad are with Raj in the film, both of who have been forbidden from revealing much about their characters.

So far, Raj has only given audiences a tiny glimpse into what to expect with a motion poster of one of his looks in the film. The film is set to release in theatres on August 25 and we have now heard that the team has locked the trailer release date. According to a source, the Toby trailer will drop in the first week of August. An official announcement on the date and time is expected soon. The team will also release a making of Toby video, including BTS footage.

Toby, which has been made as a Kannada film, is likely to be dubbed and released in other languages as well, making it Raj’s first pan-India outing. But that, he had said, will depend on the reception to the original film. The film is being distributed by KVN Films.
