Danny Elfman is set to bring his hauntingly beautiful music to yet another Tim Burton project. It was announced that the popular composer will be incharge of composing the score for the filmmaker’s upcoming Netflix series, Wednesday. Elfman will also be in charge of writing the show’s theme song as well.
The announcement was made on the Twitter handle of Netflix Geeked, which also mentioned that Chris Bacon, known for his work on Bates Motel, would also join Elfman on the upcoming series.

This will mark Elfman’s latest collaboration with Burton, who is known for his gothic and horror themed films. Elfman has served as composer for almost 16 of Burton’s directorials. Some of them include Batman, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, and Dumbo. Besides these, Elfman has also scored films such as Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man and its sequel, as well as the Academy Award nominated films, Good Will Hunting and Milk. The composer has received nominations for Academy Awards, Emmy Awards and a Grammy as well.

The upcoming Burton helmed series is based on the popular titular character from the comics created by Charles Addams. Wednesday is a young girl who is part of the Addams family, a wealthy family with macabre interests. She is the first child of Morticia and Gomez Addams, and like her parents, also shows a keen interest in dark and disturbing phenomena. Jenna Ortega portrays Wednesday in the upcoming series.
Consisting of eight episodes, Wednesday will premiere on Netflix sometime in 2022.
