If you are someone who keeps a tab on celebrities’ quirky hairdos, you must have noticed the cool and edgy undercut that acclaimed actress Tillotama Shome has been flaunting of late. Poised for the release of Sandeep Modi-directed Disney+ Hotstar show The Night Manager Part II where she’ll be seen reprising her role as a gritty RAW agent, Tillotama will also appear in Netflix’s much-awaited anthology film, Lust Stories 2. Commenting on what inspired her to opt for the bold undercut hairstyle, the actress said that more than following any trend, it’s about ‘moving toward a low-maintenance life’.
The thought of getting herself a haircut began some time in March, she said. “By March-end, I had finished my last project, and there was nothing finalised after that. So, I quickly cut my hair before I got stuck in any continuity again. It was very hot, and this seemed to be a no-fuss haircut,” the Tooth Pari: When Love Bites told OTTplay during an exclusive interview recently.
According to Tillotama, having shorter hair is a lot easier than maintaining long hair. “You can just wash it, and it dries up on its own. And yeah, I just wanted a less complicated life. This is all about moving towards a less complicated, simpler life. Not to be trendy, be cool or whatever the objectives are. I’m just moving towards a life of low maintenance,” she added.
As RAW agent Lipika Saikia Rao, Tillotama will be doing an action sequence in the second season of The Night Manager. Releasing on June 30, the crime-thriller show stars Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sobhita Dhulipala.
