In the Malayalam action film Tiki Taka, director Rohit VS and actor Asif Ali will reunite after working together on Adventures of Omanakuttan and Iblis. Nevertheless, there has not been a project update in a while. The most recent sources indicate that this movie will likely be released by the end of the year, with filming expected to resume by the end of September. The actor's fans are hoping for a Christmas release of the movie.
The film, which also stars Wamiqa Gabbi and Lukman Avaran in key parts, will feature enough intense action sequences to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. Additionally, there are more actors that the makers have not yet disclosed. In an interview with OTTplay, the director stated, "It is a film that develops via multi-character conflicts, and every actor is also the lead, in some capacity." Tovino Thomas-starrer Kala, Rohit's prior film, is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
According to sources, the filmmakers also intend to contact other well-known actors from Malayalam and Tamil to feature in the movie. With an 80-day shoot schedule, the movie was also filmed in locations outside of Kerala. Originally slated to open in theatres in 2023, Tiki Taka is also regarded as one of Asif's big budget films to date. Important roles are also played by Naslen, Sanjana Natarajan, and Santosh Prathap in the Juvis Production-bankrolled movie.
Adios Amigo and Level Cross are two of Asif's most recent releases. On September 12, the actor's other movie, Thalavan, which also stars Biju Menon, will be available for streaming on Sony LIV. This year's Onam will mark the theatrical premiere of the actor's Kishkindha Kaandam. The poster for Rekhachithram, another film, mentions an Asif Ali-starring investigative horror thriller. Although Anaswara Rajan is costumed as a ghostly nun, the actor is clearly playing a police officer.
