Tiger Nageswara Rao marks the first pan-Indian project for Teja as well as Nupur, which will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. The upcoming film is written and directed by Vamsee and bankrolled by Abhishek Agarwal under the banner of Abhishek Agarwal Arts. The film’s pre-look is scheduled to be released on April 2.
It follows the story of the titular protagonist, a robber who earned the moniker of ‘Tiger’ after his several daring escapes from captivity. In a conversation with TOI, Vamsee said that he wanted to showcase the ‘humane’ side of the robber, who used to help out the poor and destitute as well. Most people only knew Tiger as a thief, and the filmmaker said he wanted to showcase the unknown aspects of his life.
The upcoming film, touted to be an action drama set in the 1970s, will have music composed by GV Prakash and cinematography by R Madhie.
Meanwhile, Nupur, who is the sister of Kriti Sanon, recently wrapped up filming her Bollywood debut film, Noorani Chehra. She will share the screen with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the film, which is helmed by Navaniat Singh.
