My role in Tiger Nageswara Rao
I play Sara in Tiger Nageswara Rao, a cheery, soulful Marwari girl. She’ll go to any length to help her beloved. While this is a commercial film, there’s adequate scope to perform in the film as well. I’m thrilled to have bagged the part. The prospect of acting with Ravi Teja was big for me.
Working with Ravi Teja
I had watched almost all Ravi Teja films to date, he’s the original Vikram Rathore after all. He is an amazing actor with great comic timing. The Mass Maharaja title suits him perfectly. He was effortless with his Hindi and so supportive during shot. It made my job easier during the shoot.
Why is this opportunity special?
It’s a privilege to have associated with Abhishek Agarwal Arts after Karthikeya 2, Kashmir Files and I trusted this would be a good launchpad for me too. The director Vamsee auditioned over 200 girls for my role but ended up choosing me. I am so happy he believed in my potential.
Vamsee had researched for over three years for Tiger Nageswara Rao and he has a clear idea of how he’s driving the story forward. He even knew how my hairband had to look like, in the film. I merely followed his instructions.
On Kriti Sanon’s advise for her
Kriti too began her career in Telugu cinema. Our outlook and tastes are quite contrasting. The only advise she gave was to be myself. I’m trying to follow that. People take great care of me here and supported me immensely. They’re very well acquainted with technicalities and it’s a very organised industry.
Favourites in Telugu
Nani is one of my favourites, so are Ram Pothineni and Vishwak Sen. Among the actresses, I like Sai Pallavi and was in awe of her after watching Fidaa. I enjoying watching the works of Anushka Shetty and Keerthy Suresh too.
What next?
I want to do a wide variety of roles, probably a female-oriented film too. I am currently working on a film with Nawazuddin Siddiqui besides Bhaktha Kannappa.
