Ajith in Thunivu

After leaving fans of Ajith elated with the record-breaking trailer of Thunivu, makers have now come up with another surprise. They have revealed that the film has completed its censor formalities, and that it has obtained U/A certificate. The update has left fans excited, but they are still waiting to know the release date of the project.

Though January 12 is said to be the tentative date, movie buffs are wondering about the reason which is stopping makers from officially announcing the same. The movie will be released in Telugu under the title Thegimpu.

Meanwhile, the censor details of the film have been going viral on social media. A few cuss words in Tamil and English have been asked to mute in some portions, and cinephiles have expressed eagerness on how director H Vinoth has conceived those sequences.

The run time of the heist drama is said to be 2 hours and 23 minutes. The theatrical rights of the movie produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios have been bagged by Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies in Tamil Nadu. Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken and Prem among others play pivotal roles in the film.

The advance ticket reservation for Thunivu began recently in a few locations like US, France and Canada. Ghibran's music and Supreme Sundar's action sequences are expected to be highlights of the movie which will drop on Netflix in the first week of February.

The film is expected to have a box office clash with Varisu, but the makers of both the films seem to have other plans. It looks like a last minute surprise is unavoidable. For now, fans of both the stars are keeping their fingers crossed.
