Thundu OTT release - The Biju Menon-starrer has finally made it to the digital space. The police drama is now available to stream on Netflix starting today (March 15), exactly a month after its theatrical release. The makers of the film had earlier revealed that it would be releasing on this popular OTT platform after running on big screens.

Current trends in the Malayalam film industry dictate that new releases typically debut on streaming platforms after a four-week exclusive theatrical run. Oru Thekkan Thallu Case, starring Biju Menon, is also available for streaming on the same platform.

The film is directed by debutante Riyas Shereef. Alongside Mammootty's eagerly awaited mystery horror Bramayugam, which hit theatres on February 15, Thundu made its theatrical debut. During the same week, Tovino Thomas' Anweshippin Kandethum and Girish AD's romantic comedy Premalu were both playing to strong crowds in theatres.

Unfortunately, Thundu's dull script and other flaws prevented it from making an impact on the audience. It was unable to maintain its theatrical run in the face of all these blockbuster films and the big-screen debut of Manjummel Boys the very next week.

All about Thundu

After engaging in an ego battle with a coworker at his station, police constable Baby chooses to take a test for promotion. However, he turns to cheating because he is afraid of examinations. The plot is made up of a sequence of events that occur in the life of the careless police officer, who is meant to be a responsible member of the community.

Reviews for the movie were mixed, with many saying that Biju Menon's talent was not fully utilised. Some had also said that the movie had too many ideas, but not enough of them to support a compelling story.

The majority of the actor's fans, who flooded social media with well wishes and excitement about seeing Biju Menon play a cop again were let down by the movie's failure to live up to their expectations in terms of humour or an engaging story.
