Thug Life release update: Mani Ratnam-Kamal Haasan film to hit the theatres on THIS day?

Thug Life, the highly anticipated Mani Ratnam directorial which stars Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan in the lead role, is reportedly all set to have a summer 2025 release.

Thug Life, the upcoming Tamil movie marks the second collaboration of legendary actor Kamal Haasan and veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam. The duo is reuniting after a long gap of 37 years for the project, which is touted to be a hyperlink action film. Silambarasan, the popular actor is playing a pivotal role in Thug Life, which is now nearing the final stages of its production. Reportedly, the Mani Ratnam-Kamal Haasan film is gearing up for an April 2024 release.

Thug Life gets a release date?

If the recent updates are to be believed, the makers of Thug Life have already finalised the release date of the film. According to the latest updates, director Mani Ratnam and his team are keen to release the upcoming Kamal Haasan starrer on April 10, 2024. In that case, the multi-starrer film will have a solo long weekend run at the theatres, which will contribute to its box office collections, big time.

Thug Life trailer to be out soon?

As reported earlier, the highly anticipated Thug Life trailer is gearing up for a grand release by the second week of November 2024. The grapevine suggests that director Mani Ratnam and his team are planning to reveal the highly anticipated trailer on November 7, 2024, on the special occasion of leading man Kamal Haasan’s 70th birthday. Along with the trailer, the makers are also expected to announce the release date and reveal Thug Life's first single, on the same day.

Kamal Haasan is playing the central character, Rangaraya Sakthivel Nayakar, in Thug Life. The Mani Ratnam directorial reportedly features Silambarasan TR in the role of his son. Both the actors are expected to appear in multiple avatars in the film. Trisha Krishnan, on the other hand, has been roped in to play the female lead. Thug Life features Ashok Selvan, Nasser, Delhi Ganesh, Abhirami, Joju George, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and others in supporting roles.

AR Rahman is composing the songs and original score for the project. Ravi K Chandran is the director of photography. A Sreekar Prasad handles the editing. Thug Life is jointly produced by Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam, under their home banners Raaj Kamal Films International aka RKFI, and Madras Talkies.
