Thug Life, the highly anticipated Kamal Haasan starrer directed by Mani Ratnam, will feature senior actor Nasser and popular actress Abhirami in pivotal roles.
Thug Life, the highly anticipated project marks the second collaboration of legendary duo, Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam. The project, which is touted to be an interlink action drama, is now nearing the final stages of its production. As reported earlier, the movie which was originally announced with a different star cast, underwent major changes following the unexpected delay in its shooting. Recently, the Thug Life team officially welcomed Nasser and Abhirami on board, with a special social media post.
Recently, the makers of Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life took to the official social media handles of Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies and dropped a major cast update. “Excited to welcome #Nasser and @abhiramiact to the stellar #ThugLife family,” wrote the makers, as they officially welcomed the popular actors onboard for the film. Even though both Nasser and Abhirami joined the Kamal Haasan starrer right from its first schedule, the team decided to keep the same under wraps until the filming reached its final stages.

Earlier, both Nasser and Abhirami were spotted with Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR on the sets of the Mani Ratnam directorial during the film’s New Delhi schedule. The duo’s pictures from the sets of the film, with the leading man and the rest of the team, had gone viral on social media. Some unconfirmed reports suggest that Abhirami is appearing in the role of Kamal Haasan’s wife in the film. Nasser’s role, however, has been kept under wraps so far.

Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR have reportedly finished dubbing for the first half of Thug Life already. The team is yet to finish filming the film, but the direction team has already kicked off the post-production work on the finished portions. Mani Ratnam and his team are planning to wrap up the filming of Thug Life by the end of September 2024, with the film’s Goa and Russia schedules. If things go as planned, Thug Life might hit theatres across the globe in December 2024.
