The Academy Award winning music composer has confirmed that he will be working on the upcoming MCU movie
Academy Award winning music composer Michael Giacchino is a regular presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and has confirmed through a social media post that he will be working on Thor: Love and Thunder.
The music composer took to Twitter and tweeted a post sharing a GIF of Chris Hemsworth as Thor and wrote, “Me grabbing my next assignment”, which confirms that he will be doing the music for the movie.
Though Giacchino has previously worked in four MCU movies, this will be the first time he will create music for a Thor movie. Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home are the other MCU movies.
After winning an Academy Award for his work in Pixar’s Up in 2010, the music composer also worked on big projects such as Star Wars, Star Trek and DCEU’s upcoming movie, The Batman led by Robert Pattinson.
Thor: Love and Thunder is directed by Taika Waiti, who also helmed the 2017 MCU movie Thor: Ragnarok. Waititi and Giacchino have previously worked together on 2019's critically-acclaimed World War 2 satire Jojo Rabbit.
The fourth Thor movie will see Hemsworth reprise his role as the Avenger in addition to familiar characters like Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson).
Fans can catch Giacchino’s latest work Spider-Man: No Way Home in theaters, which is set to release on December 16.
