Yogi Babu, who has been taking up some of the most interesting scripts lately, will be seen in yet another fun project. The actor, who was last seen in science-fiction comedy Ayalaan that released on Pongal, will headline a new film titled Thookudurai. The film is directed by Dennis Manjunath who had previously helmed Yogi Babu’s 2021 horror film Trip. The makers of the film have now announced that the film will be out on big screens on January 25.

Along with this update, the makers also announced that the trailer of the film will be unveiled on January 17.

Is Yogi Babu’s film a heist comedy?

The announcement poster features Yogi Babu, donning a pair of shades, seated before sacks of what appears to be gold. He is surrounded by other cast members including Bala Saravanan, Mahesh, Namo Narayanan and Rajendran, who seem to be playing the role of bodyguards with each holding a gun.

The first look hints that the film would revolve around a heist, and with Yogi Babu headlining the project, Thookudurai will definitely be a laugh riot!

According to the teaser of the film, which was released earlier, the movie is set in a fictional village called Kailasm. It then shows several parties eyeing a deity's crown, stealing which would fetch them a good amount. Actors Namo Narayanan and Rajendran, who will be featured alongside Yogi Babu in this film, will certainly make this movie a must-watch for the fun ride!

In an interview, director Denis revealed that the film revolves around a royal family and how this family influences the village called Kailasam. “Thookudurai depicts the royal family's experiences across three different time periods. The movie will surely entertain the audience with humour and emotional moments,” the director elaborated.

Actress Ineya will be the female lead in the film, which also features Bala Saravanan, Mahesh, Senrayan and Ashwin in key roles. The camera is cranked by Ravi Varma K, while the music is scored by KS Manoj. Thookudurai is bankrolled by Open Gate Pictures.
