Touted to be a fun-filled entertainer, laced with comedy and action, SK 20 also features Sathyaraj, Naveen Polishetty, Premgi Amaren and others, in key roles
Sivakarthikeyan's latest release, Don, which hit the screens on May 13 to positive reviews, has collected more than Rs 50 crore at the box office and is still in theatres. However, he has started work on his next, (tentatively titled) SK 20, directed by KV Anudeep of Jathi Ratnalu-fame.
We had told you the makers had roped in Maria Ryaboshapka (who was recently seen in Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story) as the leading lady. Now, the images of the Ukrainian model and Sivakarthikeyan are doing the rounds on the Internet, from their dance rehearsals at a studio in Chennai. Recently, Maria Ryaboshapka celebrated her birthday, along with the team, on the sets of SK 20.
Touted to be a fun-filled entertainer, laced with comedy and action, SK 20 features Sathyaraj, Naveen Polishetty, Premgi Amaren and others, in key roles. Speculations also state that the movie will have a second female lead, in an extended cameo role, too. According to reports, more than 90 per cent of the shooting has been completed with just a couple of songs to be shot abroad.
Many believed that SK 20 is Sivakarthikeyan's first step towards a pan-Indian release, but he clarified it is a straight Tamil film that will be dubbed into Telugu. Speaking to Cinema Express, he says, "That script has only been written in Tamil. After the shoot, we have planned to dub it into Telugu and add certain elements for the local audience."
The film will have SS Thaman composing music. The Tamil-Telugu project is said to have Sivakarthikeyan playing a tourist guide. However, we await an official word.
Bankrolled by Suresh Productions, Puskur Ram Mohan Rao and Narayan Das K Narang of Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Arun Viswa of Shanthi Talkies, SK 20 has cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa.
Meanwhile, we hear that Sivakarthikeyan might collaborate with Telugu director Kalyan Krishna of Bangarraju-fame. According to a report, published by Cinema Express, the news regarding their teaming up is merely a rumour, and the actor was not currently attached to any such project.
SK 20 went on the floors in February 2022, in Karaikudi. Up next, Sivakarthikeyan has the long-awaited Ayalaan, directed by R Ravi Kumar, in the pipeline, besides an untitled film with Rangoon director Rajkumar Periasamy. This one is produced by Kamal Haasan, in association with R Mahendran, and Sony Pictures.
