It took as many as seven years for the prolific film maker Karan Johar to return back to direction. The film was the much awaited one which was titled ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. Ever since the time the film had got announced, it made news for all the right reasons. Much before the release of the film, there were a couple of photographs and even a video of Alia Bhatt (the film’s leading lady) running at the airport went viral. All of this definitely upped the curiosity in the minds of the cine goers. Post the release of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, many felt termed that Karan Johar was back and with a grand comeback!

Speaking of ‘comeback’, Karan Johar, who was in an interview with Mid Day said, when he was reading the (congratulatory) messages and feedback about the film wherein many stated that he has made a comeback, he suddenly felt like (Bollywood veteran actor) Mumtaz who had taken a sabbatical for many years and had made her comeback with the film called ‘Aandhiyaan’.

He added that, he just could not understand the meaning of the term ‘comeback’ as he had not gone anywhere and that he was very much here (in Bollywood) only! He also added that, it’s just that, he hadn’t physically directed a feature film in seven years, where a lot had happened. He cited that he was busy with his film ‘Takht’ which consumed two and a half years of his and then, two years of the pandemic, and around three years went into his PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder).

As for ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, the film starred Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the leading roles. Besides them, the film also saw the presence of the veteran actors including Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in extremely important roles.
