Yatra 2 is one of the most anticipated films in recent times. The political drama is all set to hit the screens on February 8, 2024, across the Telugu states and there is good buzz around the film as it is the much-awaited sequel to Mahi V Raghav's Yatra. Mammootty played the role of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, the late CM of Andhra Pradesh, in Yatra.
In the sequel, the film highlights the political journey of his son, YS Jagan, and how he faced all the hardships and finally became the CM of Andhra Pradesh. Jiiva is reprising the role of YS Jagan and he looks impressive in the promos released so far. There is a lot of pressure on him to deliver, as he is playing an important role in the biopic. Well, we have come to know that the Tamil star has charged a whopping Rs 4 crore to play his part in the film. This is the highest remuneration for Jiiva in his career and the popular actor has done a great job in his role of Jagan, as per the team.

Sometime back, we at OTTplay also revealed that Malayalam star Mammooty demanded big bucks and was paid Rs 6 crore to play a key role in this film. The trailer of Yatra 2 was released a few days ago and made quite an impact. It shows the demise of YSR, the aftermath of his untimely passing away, how Jagan started the 'Odarpu Yatra' to console those who were suffering following his father's demise, and the adversaries he faced due to his decision.
Speaking about the film, director Mahi V Raghav says that Yatra 2 does not take any dig at other political parties or defame them. It is a political drama and only shows the rise of YS Jagan in a cinematic way, with scenes filled with gripping drama.
Mahesh Manjrekar plays Chandrababu Naidu in this film. Yatra was a smash hit at the box office and now, all eyes are on the sequel. The film is jointly bankrolled by Three Autumn Leaves, V Celluloids, and Shiva Meka. The first part was a hit and helped the party in a big way. Now that the election season is on in AP, we need to see how much will this film create an impact.
