This is how Abar Proloy-director Raj Chakraborty tackles the question of bringing Dev and Subhashree back on the big screen

While the promotional trail of Abar Proloy, Raj was asked if he would bring back the hit jodi – Dev and Subhashree – back on the big screen.

After a long courtship, Dev and Subhashree Ganguly ended their relationship. Even that was a while ago. And yet they are still in the hearts of their fans. Subhashree got married to filmmaker Raj Chakraborty and is a mother now. Her second kid is also coming. Dev, meanwhile, is also in a stable relationship with Rukmini Maitra. However, it seems, their fans still want the duo to be back together on screen.

Dev and Subhasree paired up for the first time in the 2009 film, Challenge. Directed by Raj Chakraborty, the film was a super hit. Their romance also grew. They worked on several films like Khokababu, Paran Jai Jaliya Re, and Romeo. But they did not work together after they broke up. Koushik Ganguly made a film, Dhumketu, with Dev and Subhashree in 2016. It is not yet released. The producer of the film Rana Sarkar said that the film is stalled because Dev did not do the dubbing.

On August 11, Dev’s new film Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo will be released. On the same day, Raj’s debut web series Abar Proloy, which is produced by Subhashree, will be dropped on Zee5.

Raj, who is known to be a very calm and cool interviewee, bypassed the question with poise. He answered, “Abar Prolay is releasing on August 11 and I am focusing on that. It remains to see what I will do in the future.”

This year, Dev and Subhashree met in person on camera after a long time. In an award show, Subhashree took the award from Dev as the best actress for her work in Indubala Bhaater Hotel. However, she praised Raj after getting awarded. She gave him credit for her handling her career with a two-and-a-half-year-old kid. She said this on the stage in front of Dev, and the video went viral.
