Thiru Manickam, the upcoming Tamil film headlined by actor-filmmaker Samuthirakani, is slated for release on December 27. The family drama is helmed by Nanda Periyasamy, and the OTT rights of the film have been bagged by ZEE5. It will soon be available on OTTplay Premium once the film completes the theatrical run.

Touted to be a family drama, Thiru Manickam is directed by Nanda Periyasamy and also stars Ananya, Bharathiraja, Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran, Chaams, Vadivukarasi, and Ilavarasu. The film revolves around an honest and righteous lottery shop owner who goes in search of an old man who chooses a particular ticket and promises to come back with money to get the tickets. However in the meantime, the ticket wins a bumper prize, and the protagonist thinks it’s the old man who is the rightful owner of the unbought ticket.

Produced by GP Ravi Kumar, Chinta Gopala Krishna Reddy, and Raja Senthil under the banner GPRK CINEMAS, the film’s cinematography is handled by M Sukumar. The music is scored by Vishal Chandrasekar and SP Raja Sethupathi is in charge of the editing.

Samuthirakani’s next directorial venture

Samuthirkani last helmed the 2023 film Bro which is the remake of his Tamil film Vinodhaya Sitham. Asked about his next directorial venture, the actor said to OTTplay that he is currently working on a film titled School Bus, in which he will also play the role of driver.

The film will be made in Tamil, Hindi, and English and talk about the responsibilities of a school bus driver.
