Bhaskarabharanam marks the third directorial of Roopesh Peethambaran after Theevram and You Too Brutus,
Theevram’s director, Roopesh Peethambaran, has announced the title of his new directorial. Roopesh who is also known for his roles in films like Spadikam and Oru Mexican Aparatha has titled his third directorial, Bhaskarabharanam.
The director shared the title of the movie through his Instagram, saying, “My 3rd directorial, Bhaskarabharanam! No well-known persons! A film, made with a group of newbies, behind and in front of the camera.”
Scripted by Roopesh himself, the film is bankrolled by NICAFF productions of Arumugam K Gowda, and Ruby Peethambaran. Uma Kumarapuram and Rashin Ahmed who worked in the English-Malayalam bilingual Across the Ocean are roped in as cinematographer and editor, respectively. Arun Thomas, who is the composer of Olam, starring Lenaa and Arjun Ashokan handle the music department for Bhaskarabharanam.
Roopesh had earlier shared that the title announcement will be done on July 29 at 11.00 AM. He greeted Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan on his birthday and dedicated the title of his film as a birthday present to the actor.
Theevram, directed by him starring Dulquer Salmaan, Sreenivasan, and Vinay Forrt was a crime investigation thriller. A wannabe musician plots and execute the perfect murder of a person who had hurt him. As the plot unfolds, the Kerala Police are left perplexed after finding the mutilated body parts of an auto driver. Later the story delves into the past of the murderer and the victim. Even Though the film didn’t do well at the box office, It was later acclaimed for its different style of narration.
The previous directorial venture of Roopesh was You Too Brutus in 2015 starring Asif Ali and Tovino Thomas. The director started his career by playing the younger version of Mohanlal in the Malayalam classic Spadikam. He was also seen on screen in, Gambler, Kunjeldho, and Angarajyathe Jimmanmar.
