Director Manu Anand's FIR is all set to hit the screens tomorrow. The crime thriller, starring Vishnu Vishal in the lead, stars Gautham Menon, Maala Parvathy, Raiza Wilson, Reba Monica John and Manjima Mohan in pivotal roles. The latest on the movie is that its theatrical release has been banned in Malaysia, Kuwait and Qatar.
The makers had arranged a special show for the press on Wednesday after which the hype around the project escalated among film buffs. It is heard that the film has been banned because of the content in it.
Vishnu took to Twitter to express apology to the viewers in the three countries, though no other details were mentioned in the tweet. FIR deals with a story which revolves around a youngster who is accused of having connection with an international terror outfit and a team of National Security Agency which closely monitors the plans of a dreaded terrorist.
The plot gets thicker when the innocent youngster is framed by the NSA team. Vishnu Vishal himself has produced the project which has music by Ashwath, cinematography by Arul Vincent and editing by Prasanna GK.
The film's teaser was released two years ago and the makers' initial plan was to release the movie as a summer release in 2020. However, the pandemic spoiled their plan and the film is releasing after a delay of almost two years. Stunt Silva has choreographed action sequences for FIR, which has additional screenplay by Divyanka Anand Shankar, too.
Gaurav Narayanan and Praveen Kumar among others, too, essay crucial characters in the film. Vishnu will be seen playing an engineering graduate while Reba Monica John is his love interest. Raiza and Manjima play investigative officer and lawyer respectively. Gautham Menon is the team head of National Security Agency in FIR.
