The teaser for SonyLIV's new show The Whistleblower is out. Featuring Ritwik Bhowmik of Bandish Bandits fame in the lead role, the series is about an examination scam. In the teaser, a bruised Ritwik is seen sitting on a chair and waiting for Sonali Kulkarni to give a cue to talk about his wrongdoings. The video then flashbacks to him writing exams and creating a scam that involve politicians, entrepreneurs and others.
Touted among the biggest scams of the country, the makers have put an interesting dialogue at the end of The Whistleblower teaser which is, "Education ek field hai jisko business se humesha dur rakhna chahiye." The series is set against the backdrop of the year 2013.
The teaser gives a glimpse into the medical exam scam and also gives an idea about the thriller and captivating narrative.
The series also features Ravi Kishan, Sachin Khedekar, Ankita Sharma and Hemant Kher in supporting roles. Created and written by Ajay Monga, The Whistleblower is directed by Manoj Pillai. While Studio Next has produced the series.
However, the makers are yet to announce the streaming date of The Whistleblower on SonyLIV.
The series marks the second big outing for Ritwik after Bandish Bandits which dropped on Amazon Prime Video in 2020. The musical romantic-drama series was created by Amritpal Singh Bindra and Anand Tiwari, which went on to become an instant hit among the masses.
Bandish Bandits also features Shreya Chaudhry, Naseeruddin Shah, Atul Kulkarni, Sheeba Chaddha, Rajesh Tailang, Amit Mistry, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Rahul Kumar and Tridha Choudhary in important roles.
Meanwhile, The Whistleblower is yet another scam-based series SonyLIV has brought into their platform after Hansal Mehta's 2020 hit web series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story featuring Pratik Gandhi and Shreya Dhanwanthary in the lead roles.
