The Warriorr, starring Ram Pothineni and Krithi Shetty, was released on July 14 in Tamil and Telugu. The Lingusamy directorial marked the Kollywood debut of both the actors. The action drama which was expected to be the comeback vehicle of the filmmaker, however, opened to mixed reports.

Nadhiya Moidu, Aadhi Pinisetty, Lal, Brahmaji and Redin Kingsley among others played key characters in the project which carried decent pre-release buzz in both Tamil and Telugu industries, thanks to a couple of super hit songs like Bullet Song and Whistle Song composed by Devi Sri Prasad in it.

What's The Warriorr about?

The movie revolves around a doctor-turned-cop who sets out to put a check on a dreaded goon who spearheads criminal activities in Madurai (Kurnool in Telugu version). How he nabs him using different tactics despite facing various challenges from the latter forms the rest of the story.

Sujith Vaassudev and Naveen Nooli have cranked the camera for the project which has been bankrolled by Srinivasa Chitturi under the banner of Srinivasa Silver Screen. The film marked Lingusamy's return to filmdom after Vishal-starrer Sandakozhi 2.

When and where to watch The Warriorr online?

The film will drop on Disney+ Hotstar on August 11, a month after its theatrical release. The Warriorr opened to good box office numbers in Telugu while the performance in Tamil box office was way below the expectations. Anbarivu's action scenes, performance of Aadhi and screen presence of Ram were a few aspects which received appreciation from the audience.

The run-of-the-mill cat-and-mouse sequences between protagonist and antagonist, ineffective romantic track and over-dependence on same old template were reasons many pointed out for the movie's below par performance at the box office.
