Director Shankar was one among the many filmmakers who turned up at the pre-release event of Lingusamy's The Warriorr yesterday. All praise for the movie's title, the veteran said, "This is a title which all of us can easily relate to. All of us are warriors in different ways, striving to do many things on a daily basis."

Showering praise on Ram's infectious enthusiasm, the Enthiran filmmaker said that after watching the movie's trailer, the actor's energy on screen reminded him of Chiyaan Vikram. "I haven't been able to watch Ram's films till now. So, I'm really looking forward to The Warriorr," he said.

Talking about Krithi Shetty, who is playing the female lead in the project, Shankar said that he was impressed with her work in Tollywood movie Uppenna which went on to become a smashing hit. He said that the actress should do more movies and fetch a National award like Keerthy Suresh.

According to Shankar, what made the trailer of The Warriorr interesting is a proper amalgamation of family emotions in Lingusamy's Anandham, fast-paced scenes in his film Run and the engaging hero-villain conflict in Sandakozhi. The Indian 2 filmmaker said that he can't wait to watch the movie which is likely to be a mixture of all these ingredients.

Devi Sri Prasad's music, he felt, is the major highlight of the film. He said, "I analyze the trend of a song by listening to my children. If it's popular among them, it's a sure shot chartbuster. Bullet Song from the film is a big hit among them which means the song is a sensation among all youngsters." The director went on to add that he still listens to DSP's songs from Pushpa.

"I turned up at the event today because of my friendship with Lingusamy. He's someone who doesn't mind sacrificing his life for me," Shankar added.
