Vivek Agnihotri's film The Vaccine War, which opened in theaters on Thursday, had a very poor opening day at the box office. After Agnihotri's last film, The Kashmir Files, which became an instant hit at the box office, it was anticipated that his latest movie would follow in the footsteps of his last work, but that did not happen.

For the uninitiated, The Kashmir Files earned Rs 3.55 crore at the box office on its opening day and according to industry tracker Sacnilk, The Vaccine War earned Rs 1.3 crore on its opening day at the box office. The Vaccine War had a 10.17 percent Hindi occupancy on Thursday. It is to be noted that the film is facing tough competition with Fukrey 3 and Chandramukhi 2 at the ticket window.

According to reports, the movie had a budget of about 10 crore.

About The Vaccine War

The Vaccine War, dubbed "India's first bio-science film," describes the battle faced by Indian scientists as they worked to develop the Covid-19 vaccine. It also highlights Indian researchers who are working round-the-clock in labs to discover a coronavirus treatment. Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, Anupam Kher, Girija Oak, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Sapthami Gowda, and Mohan Kapur are among the actors who star in the film.

OTTplay’s review of The Vaccine War reads: "The Vaccine War is a must watch for everyone.
