The Sky is Everywhere trailer: A grieving sister finds herself torn in love

Love can bloom in the most strangest of circumstances, including the quagmire of grief. And Apple TV+ is here to prove just that with its latest film, The Sky is Everywhere, the trailer for which was released recently.

The trailer shows two sisters as close as can be, with the narration talking about their close bond. The younger sister, 17-year-old Lennie Walker, finds her life plunged into a state of grief when her sister dies and loses interest in all the things that gave her joy, including music. When she meets a boy named Joe who joins her school’s band, sparks fly and she finds herself getting back her lost vibrance when she’s with him.

To complicate things is the fact that her late sister’s boyfriend, Toby, who is also struggling to cope with the death, frequently visits them and Lennie also seems to bond with him in her grief. She is left with making the impossible choice of whether to be with the person who makes her feel alive, or the one who makes her feel less lonely in her grief.

The Sky is Everywhere stars Grace Kaufman as Lennie, with Havana Rose Liu, Jacques Colimon and Pico Alexander playing the roles of her sister Bailey, Joe and Toby respectively.

The upcoming film is based on the young adult novel of the same name written by Jandy Nelson, who has also penned the film’s script. The film is directed by Josephine Decker, who also serves as its producer. The film is produced under the banners of A24, Di Novi Pictures and Alice the Who.

The Sky is Everywhere will be available to stream on Apple TV+ from February 11.
