The shooting of Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Don has been wrapped up; release date announcement soon

The shooting of Don which began earlier this year, has been finally wrapped up. The social media handles of Sivakarthikeyan Productions and Lyca Productions, which are jointly bankrolling the project, announced the same and posted a couple of pictures of the crew members from the location.

Sivakarthikeyan and Priyanka Arul Mohan play lead roles in the movie which is set against the backdrop of a college in Coimbatore. SJ Suryah essays the antagonist's role in the movie which has Samuthirakani, Soori, Sivaangi Krishnakumar, Munishkanth, Kaali Venkat and RJ Vijay among others in key characters.

KM Bhaskaran has cranked the camera for Don which has music by Anirudh and editing by Nagooran. A lion's share of the film, in which Gautham Menon has played a cameo, has been shot in Coimbatore. The team had released a few stills from the movie recently, which featured Siva, Priyanka, Shivangi, Suryah and Samuthirakani.

Siva hails from a middle class family in the movie and Samuthirakani plays his father. How his character, that of a college student, takes on an evil force whom he meets at his college forms the crux of its story.

Earlier Don was said to be releasing towards the end of January. But the film is now expected to release in February 2022, going by the speculation which is doing the rounds.

A slew of Tamil films are already eyeing theatrical release on the month, including Etharkkum Thunindhavan, FIR, Yaanai and Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal. Fans of Siva are eagerly awaiting an official announcement on the movie's release date.
