Starring Vikrant Massey, Ridhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna, starrer The Sabarmati Report will hit the theatres later this year
The makers of Vikrant Massey-starrer The Sabarmati Report have announced a new release date for the film. The movie, which also stars Ridhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna, was earlier scheduled to release on May 3, 2024, but was postponed. Now, the film’s leading man Vikrant Massey has confirmed that the much-anticipated film, The Sabarmati Report, will hit the big screen on August 2, 2024.

The Sabarmati Report release date
Taking to Instagram, Vikrant Massey shared a picture of the front page of a newspaper which was titled ‘The Sabarmati Report.’ Below the title of the page, the subhead reads that the film will feature Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra. In the newspaper, it is also written that the Ranjan Chandel-directed film is co-produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms and Amul Mohan and Anshul Mohan under Vikir Films Production.
The left side of the page features a picture of a burning train, while on the right it says that the film will hit the theatres on August 2, 2024. Vikrant captioned the post, “Re-opening files of The Sabarmati Report, in cinemas on 2nd August!”
The Sabarmati Report depicts the Godhra train incident
The film depicts the tragic train burning incident of Godhra where 59 people lost their lives. According to the film's trailer, Vikrant plays the role of a journalist named Samar Kumar who reports on the day of the incident.

Vikrant’s followers took to the comment section of the post and wished him good luck for his upcoming film. One user wrote, “Aapki movie h to mast hi hogi best wishes”, while another said, “Best of luck.” According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the Central Board of Film Certification had asked the makers to postpone the release date of the film as it could violate the Model Code of Conduct of the Lok Sabha elections.
