Vikrant portrays a determined journalist driven by a commitment to ethical reporting. As the film hit the theatres, it opened to weak numbers at the box office.
The Sabarmati Report took a slow start at the ticket window and collected 1.15 crore according to Sacnilk.com. The film has an overall 16.74 percent Hindi occupancy on Friday.
The Saturday and Sunday collection of the film will now decide its fate. If it fails to attract more footfalls in the theatres during the weekend, its lifetime run will be affected big time.
Talking about word of mouth, the film did not open to outstanding reviews as Vikrant Massey’s last film 12th Fail did so it might not follow the success of that film in the long run. The film received a mixed response from the critics.
Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan, and Anshul Mohan under the banners of Balaji Motion Pictures and Vikir Films. Along with Vikrant, Ridhi, and Raashii, The Sabarmati Report also features Sundip Ved, Sandeep Kumar, Rohit Ameriya, Al Arjun, Anjali Nadig and more in important roles.
