Ayushmann Khurrana in The Romantics
The Romantics is the new Netflix docu-series that celebrates legendary filmmaker Yash Raj and Yash Raj Films' legacy. Directed by Smriti Mundhra, the trailer of the upcoming series features the leading stars of Bollywood, who talk about what Yash Chopra's films meant to them and how they left a mark globally.
After the official trailer, the makers have now released a video that compiles a series of BTS montages of the films made under YRF. The video begins with Uday Chopra talking from the sets of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. "Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the channel Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," says the Dhoom actor. The video further showcases a few glimpses of DDLJ featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
Ayushmann Khurrana enters the montage and talks about his first thoughts on the iconic 1997 film and says, "I was, like, in the film. I want to just go inside and just be one of the characters in the film."
Post that, Shah Rukh and Kajol can be seen shooting one of the song scenes for DDLJ, while the superstar's voice comes from the background. "Their style of shooting is very different. Their belief in how a scene should be constructed is very different," says SRK.
A few more BTS montages of DDLJ appear on the screen featuring Kajol and the actor reveals her experience of shooting the iconic 'sarsoon ke khet' scene and says, "Oh my God! The breeze was supposed to be blowing this way, but the breeze was blowing in the wrong direction. And it was so hot."
Ranbir Kapoor starts saying thoughts on Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and explains, "Yeah, I mean that's been the defining film of our generation and I can't even tell you, the feeling is still alive inside. It influenced the way I dressed it influenced the way I spoke to a girl."
A few more actors appear in the montage and talk about the world-famous legendary film.
The makers dropped the video on social media with a special caption dedicated to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge that reads, "It's been almost 3 decades but DDLJ still lives in our minds rent-free!! #TheRomantics releases on February 14. (Sic)."
