Trisha in The Road
Trisha, who has been hitting the headlines regularly ever since Ponniyin Selvan is released, is ready with her next. The Road, directed by Arun Vaseegaran, was wrapped up recently. The makers have now come up with a new poster and a motion poster.
The actress is seen sporting a fierce expression and is wielding a gun in the poster. Billed as a revenge thriller, the project has Shabbir Kallarakkal, Santhosh Prathap and Mia George essaying crucial characters in it. Sam CS has composed music for The Road which is said to be based on a real-life incident which happened two decades ago.
KG Venkatesh and Nagooran have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the project which was shot predominantly in and around Madurai. The first look poster of the movie was revealed a few months ago on Trisha's birthday. Phoenix Prabu and Siva Yadav have been roped in to helm stunt choreography and art direction respectively.
When Trisha was approached initially to play the lead in the film, she politely refused owing to her busy schedules and even expressed regret on missing the opportunity to be a part of the project. But later she herself took the initiative and came on board.
Director Arun had earlier revealed that a huge crowd thronged to the shooting location in Madurai after knowing that Trisha is present at the spot. The crew then shifted shooting to a village in Andhra Pradesh where they had even more visitors to get a glimpse of their favourite actress.
Trisha has long-pending films Garjanai and Sathuranga Vettai 2 in her kitty. Her next releases also include the Mollywood movie Ram and the second installment of Ponniyin Selvan.
