The Trailer of The Regime

The official trailer offers a glimpse of the show’s plotline and quirks, combining the information revealed in the previous teasers to offer surprisingly clear peeks at the upcoming show. The Regime stars Kate Winslet as The Chancellor, the dictator of a fictitious European country. She is on a mission to prove to America and the rest of the world “precisely what we are worth”.

The trailers show the amusing and sycophantic antics of almost everybody around a now-paranoid dictator, Winslet, who trusts few and punishes more. Her mood swings, holding video meetings while in her bathtub, being carried around in a glass case, and even getting her medicine rubbed onto her chest publicly by her trusted new right hand, Corporal Zuber, as essayed by Matthias Schoenaerts of The Danish Girl fame.

Watch Tejas, Expendables 4, Australian Open, Cubicles 3, and more on OTTplay, by subscribing to the Jhakaas monthly pack, which provides access to 22 OTTs at just ₹249 for the first month.

The trailer offers hilarious yet layered moments when Schoenaerts’ Corporal does not let the Chancellor’s husband enter her room by just stating his relation to her; he must offer explanations and wait to see if she wasn’t expecting him. The Regime seems like a fun and promising watch, especially with a talented cast, a unique and fun premise, as well as an underlying, sub-textual social commentary.
