The Railway Men is an upcoming Netflix original series that tells the story of the amazing bravery displayed by personnel of the Indian Railways in Bhopal. It has been made in collaboration with YRF Entertainment. The miniseries arrives on Netflix on November 18 with an all-star cast that includes R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu, and Babil Khan.

Talking about The Railway Men on the evening of December 2, 1984, these heroes fought an invisible adversary in the sky and risked their lives to save their fellow countrymen. This riveting show, which is based on real events, honours the resilience of the human spirit. The series also shows that even in the worst of circumstances, bravery can be discovered and that regular guys can accomplish great things when given the chance. It recalls the brave actions of people who, in a race against time, worked heroically to save hundreds of lives on the night of the biggest industrial disaster in history.

Director Shiv Rawail's emotional journey

Sharing his experience of helming his debut series, Shiv Rawail said in a statement that directing this series has been a deeply emotional and rewarding journey. The filmmaker shared that it's a narrative about the triumph of the human spirit over hardship, and it had to be shared. He called it an incredible honour for him to serve as the show's helmer and to be able to execute his passion project under the able guidance of YRF Entertainment; to be able to work with talent like R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Juhi Chawla, Raghubir Yadav, Divyendu, Babil and so many others in his very first outing as a director; and for this series to reach a global audience through Netflix is truly a dream come true.

The Railway Men is set for its Netflix premiere on November 18, 2023.
