Music composer Sridhar V Sambhram’s composition, has been sung by Shankar Mahadevan, Vijay Prakash, Kailash Kher and Sonu Sood, with visuals of the late Power Star from his many public appearances, all of which highlight how simple and genuine a man he was.
Earlier today, Kannada music composer Sridhar V Sambhram released a tribute song for the late Puneeth Rajkumar that he’d been working on over the past few days. Conceptualized and written by filmmaker Kantha Kannalli, the song, Mahanubhaava Neenaya is likely to strike a chord not only with fans, but anyone who knew the late actor.
“This is a song that’s born out of the love, admiration for the beautiful human being that Appu sir was, in recognition of all the great work that he’s done for society. We wanted to document some memorable moments from his life in music that will serve just like a photo album. Often, our memories are stored in songs. Like, for instance, when you listen to old songs, you go back to those times and the memories associated with then. Today, when people see or hear the song it’s relevance may not strike them, but, say, a couple of decades later, it will introduce Appu sir to a whole new generation,” says Sridhar about Mahanubhaava Neenaya, adding, “This song is not about the star that Puneeth was, but the simple, respectful and always smiling man that he was. This tribute song is a grave reminder of the terrible loss that his death is to the people of Karnataka.”
All the four singers featured were more than cooperative and helped record the song on priority, adds Sridhar. Up next, the music man is also looking at doing another version with female voices. “We will use the same lyrics and visuals and record it with 4-5 female singers,” he says.
