A delightful blend of nostalgia, humour and drama,' reads the first bit of the synopsis of Aachar & Co. the new film under the banner of PRK Productions. Very recently, the makers released the very catchy single titled Bengaluru's Suprabhata which, as the name suggests, comes as a quirky rendition of the iconic MS Subbalakshmi prayer. The track attracted very encouraging responses from listeners who found the new version very faithful to the original and also to be inventive, witty on its own.

And now, only a few days after, Aachar & Co with a new refreshing glimpse of their world. The second single is the Pickle Song, another super melodious track composed by Bindhumalini who has imbued her composition with a sense of authenticity and beauty. It helps immensely that the makers have released the video version of the song, because the visuals reveal just crafty is the contextualization of the song in the film. The Pickle Song captures a small story within itself as it guides us, the viewer, through the process of pickle making and also sheds light on the comical misery of a young woman to find a suitor.

Bindhumalini uses the Acapella technique to highlight the synchrony between the sisters of the Aachar household, as they work in the most harmonious manner to make and store kilos of pickle, while also sharing the grief of their sister in her amusing misadventures. Trilok Trivikrama's lyrics are similarly tasteful and whimsical, meaning that you are sure to be transferred to the same era that the film is set in. Emmjee, Deepika Kumar, Preethi Bharadwaj and Bindhumalini Narayanaswamy are credited as the singers of the song.

In her recent exclusive conversation with OTTplay, Sindhu Sreenivasa Murthy described the process of recreating the yesteryear city as a challenging one, with the team having to shift base to Mysuru so as to utilize the enduring heritage and old-world charm of the city. She also showers praise on the film's production designer Vishwas Kashyap and costume stylist Inchara Suresh for their incredibly authentic recreation of the world.
